Ron Paul Wants To End Anti-Cuban Sanctions

Ron Paul has always advocated free trade with Cuba: no barriers, no subsidies, and complete freedom for Americans to buy Cuban goods, and American farmers and businessmen to export to Cuba. Ron also knows that free trade means exporting capitalism to Cuba, just what that poor country needs. All the other candidates are for tightening the screws on Cubans (and would-be American traders and visitors). Ron Paul wants to export freedom and private property rights. And good for him for using the occasion of Castro's resignation to call for an end to immoral and protectionist anti-civilian sanctions.

Another Lie About Ron

Some of his detractors say he's a protectionist, but of course he's not. In the video Lew posts, Ron Paul again reiterates his free trade principles concerning the evil embargo on Cuba and US sanctions as weapons of war. It is true that Ron is opposed to bureaucratic managed trade agreements and international agencies like the WTO, but he is a champion of unilaterally lowering tariffs, like all classical liberals, as well as an opponent of the most vicious trade restrictions of all. He sees trade as a human right and the path to peace and prosperity. And he points out the hypocrisy of the "free trade" Republicans who helped cut trade off from the Iraqi people, leading to hundreds of thousands of deaths.
